Cut to More Fan Fiction

M.A.S.H. Stands for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. In 1970 a comedy movie came out about the 4077 MASH unit in the Korean War. Starring Elliot Gould and Donald Sutherland the film was such a success that a spin off TV series was commissioned.

M*A*S*H the TV series starred Alan Alda as Benjiman "Hawk-eye" Pierce, Wayne Rodgers as "Trapper" John McIntyre, and (later) Mike Farrell as B.J.Hunnicutt, and ran from 1972 until 1983 (longer than the Korean War!) As a sitcom, it gave us a humorous look at life in a M.A.S.H unit, yet told a moving story of the struggles of just such a unit in the forgotten war.
