Sydney Bristrow (Jennifer Garner) works for SD-6, what she believes is a deep cover, black ops, section of the CIA, under the cover of working for a bank. When she tells her fiancé the truth, her boss, Arvin Sloane (Ron Rifkin), has him killed. That's when she learns the truth—SD-6 was not part of the CIA, she had, in fact, been working for the very terrorists that she believed she had been working against. She turned herself into the real CIA, and began working as a double agent to bring down SD-6

This was the plot of Alias, created by J.J. Abrams (creator of Lost and Felicity). It ran for five seasons, full of twists and turns, and starred Jennifer Garner (Electra, Juno), Michael Vartan (Mists of Avalon), Ron Rifkin (The Sum of All Fears), and Victor Garber (Titanic).
