Cut to More Fan Fiction

In 1994 Roland Emmerich came out with a science fiction movie that stunned audiences and "explained" why the pyramids were in Egypt. Stargate starred Kurt Russell and James Spader and ended in such a fashion that a spin off was possible.

In 1997 that spin off came in the form of a tv series Stargate: SG-1 starring Richard Dean Anderson (of Macgyver fame), Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge, and Don S. Davis. Becoming the longest running American sci-fi show, SG-1 has spawned two spin offs: Stargate Atlantis, starring Torri Higgenson and Joe Flannigan; and Stargate Universe, starring Robert Carlyle.
