Quote of the month:

"One of my people would show in a female groupie. I'd say, 'Look, I've got 10 minutes. Do you want to talk? Or shall we have sex?' They weren't interested in talking." (David Cassidy to the Evening Standard,  England)

From the sports...

PETER EBDON plans to swap a pot for pop in the next few weeks.

The 31-year-old dad of four may be too old to become the next pop idol but Gareth Gates and Will Young had still better beware snooker's music man.

Ebdon begins the defence of the £597,200 Regal Scottish Open in Aberdeen on Monday but he also has one eye on his alternative career as a singer.

His first single was a remake of David Cassidy's I'm A Clown, which soon found its way into the bargain bins of the nation.

The Londoner's latest offering, Fall of Paradise, will be available as soon as he can clinch a record deal.

A Definitive Collection Of Hits And New Material From The Pop Icon Hits Stores April 30th From Decca Records

(March 18, 2002, New York, NY) David Cassidy, a superstar who has sold over 25 million records and continues to set hearts of all ages aflutter, comes full circle with Then And Now, a definitive collection of hits spanning the last three decades as well as never before heard material. With fresh arrangements of favorites, from his Partridge Family hits to new tracks available exclusively on the disc, Then And Now again confirms David Cassidy's astounding talent and unsurpassed popularity. The CD will be released April 30, 2002 from Decca Records.

Then And Now is a labor of love from an icon whose staying power has wowed critics and music buffs alike. Wanting to treat new and old admirers to the many songs that launched and continue to fuel his unstoppable career, Cassidy
decided to head back into the studio for fresh interpretations of Partridge Family and solo pop classics still cherished today. Infectious staples such as "I Think I Love You", "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" and "C'mon Get Happy" are all included on the CD, remaining true to their original versions. Other smile inducing favorites include "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat", "It's One Of Those Nights" and "I'll Meet You Halfway". Solo hits represented on the album include his biggest smash ever, "Cherish", a Top 10 and #1 A/C single, "Rock Me Baby" and "How Can I Be Sure".

Then And Now has been massively embraced in England, achieving gold status within a month of its release, and climbing to #5 on their top album chart. (The CD has since then achieved platinum status) Perhaps most exciting is David's welcome foray into new territory with songs chosen specifically for Then And Now. "No Bridge", co-written with recording star Lulu, is currently heating up the UK singles chart. "Lyin' To Myself", a collaboration between David and his wife, songwriter Sue Shifrin-Cassidy, is another memorable new track on the album not to be missed. Listeners will also thrill to a soulful version of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" and The
Lovin' Spoonful's irresistibly upbeat "Do You Believe In Magic", which David reinvented for Mervyn's 2001 Holiday advertising campaign. The unforgettable song "Cry", originated by Johnny Ray, rounds out the handpicked selection of covers on the album.

The songlist will be as follows:
1. I Think I Love You
2. No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross
3. Do You Believe In Magic *
4. Ain't No Sunshine
5. I Can Feel Your Heartbeat
6. It's One Of Those Nights
7. Rock Me Baby
8. I Woke Up In Love This Morning
9. How Can I Be Sure
10. Lyin' To Myself
11. Cherish
12. Cry
13. Ricky's Tune
14. I'll Meet You Halfway
15. C'mon Get Happy *

* These songs were not on the UK release of "Then and Now"

David Cassidy's daughter thinks she loves us too!

Cheryl Corwin of the Friends of the Cassidys Fan Club spoke to Sherry Williams, the mother of Katie Cassidy.  Katie has recorded a single "I Think I Love You" dance mix, which will be out in the first half of May on Sony Records.  She's filming a VH1 special on Friday and is doing some promotion on Radio Disney and Nickelodeon Slimetime. According to her mom,  the record producer didn't make the connection until a few weeks before she went into the recording studio, when Sherry told him.  The funny thing is, they already had the song ready for her to record before they made the connection! Some coincidence... (Thanks to Cheryl for the news.)
