BIRTH: 12 years old on 1880 North Carolina Census.
CENSUS: North Carolina, Henderson Co, Tryon P.O.,#13, 1 Jun 1880.
!DEATH: Headstone inscription; Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery,
Saluda, Polk Co., North Carolina.
Notes:
1880: Bradley(54) is a Blacksmith, with wife Dicey Ann(52), with children
Marden Ann(28), John(22), Amanda(14), James Hicks(12), Emma Florence(10),

A visit to this site on 4 Aug 1993, reveals that this stone may read 'Bornd Feb
1 1808' vice 1868, and 'Did Oct 5 1893' vice Apr 3 1893'. Stones in the part of
cemetery are in very bad condition and getting worse fast.
Grave site is of very old stones, most unmarked, located in a small clearing
off from the main cemetery. This cemetery was in Buncombe at the time of David's
burial. Henderson was formed in 1838, and included this area. In 1847 newly
formed Polk county included the cemetery area. There are approximately thirty
unreadable stones in the site.
T or J. M. Dalton, b. 27 Jul 1794, d. 17 Dec 1827, is the oldest grave.
David Dalton, d. 27 Feb 1835, is the second oldest grave in the site.
Friendship Baptist Church was formed in 1838, three years after David was
buried in this little side area. Could this have been a Dalton family burial
site.
