"Miss Mae", was a historian of Troup Co. Georgia. She was responsible for the
restoration of the James Mooty Cemetery. She was considered a gold mine of
information on the Cameron families and on the settlement of Ware's Cross Roads
community. In her eighties, she acted as caretaker of the Mooty Cemetery, and
after she suffered a stroke, was responsible for a fund for the perpetual care
of the cemetery.

JOURNAL:1917-1942: by Alice Corinne Raulerson- Horne.
1917- Soldiers sometimes encamped in the park attended square dances held in
Mangnoia Park near Rivera, Fla. After the Armistice, this is where Alice met
Yancy Horne, thru a mutural friend, Allie Chandler. Alice was still attending
high school and dating several class mates, but not interested in any of them.
Later she would meet Yancy's brother, Ken, whom she came to fall in love with.
On 15 June, 1921, Alice graduated from high school. One week later 26 June,
1921, wearing her graduation dress, Alice was married to Kenneth M. Horne, in
West Palm Beach, in the Parsonage of the Congregational Church. They spent some
time with their friend Sarah in Lake Worth, then roomed in Alice's parents home
while Kenneth completed construction on their first home at 914 Georgia Avenue.
Kenneth tried College in Gainesville under the G.I. Bill, but it did not work
out. He returned to West Palm Beach and began a job at the Olive Street Garage.

I saw a marvelous sight,this eve, a rainbow in Western sky caused by the light
of a full moon,and by a drizleling eve of misty rain.

There was a Thanksgiving party, Jack and Romona enjoyed the party. Hoover had

development and donated a doll which belonged to her mother Ida Virgina Lennard.
Attends the Annual Pioneer Coffee held by local residents in Jupiter, Florida.
Alice has given lectures all over Florida about her knowledge of native flora
and the importance of its protection, as well as the protection of the sea
coast and all sea animals. Numerous photos and articles have appeared in the
local newspapers, paying tribute to her dedicated spirit and she has been the
recipient of many awards for her efforts showing her compassionate love of
nature.
