In 1993 Rick Berman and Michael Piller created a third series
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Also running for seven seasons (1993 - 1999) DS9 was slightly darker than TNG. Set in the aftermath of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, the Federation has taken over an abandoned Cardassian mining station.

Jadzia Daz and Grand Nagus Zak playing daboJust like with TNG Sisko, Kira, Odo, Worf and the other characters wormed their way into our hearts and imaginations, and we found ourselves weeping when Jadzia Dax died (well, I did, anyway) and hoping that Ezri and Worf could get past their awkwardness... and I could go on and on.
