Beast Wars European Airazor Repaint

Airazor is probably the cheapest and least desired toy. This is probably mainly due to her character on the show who was female (which is usually a downfall in a male based series for the younger kids), but didn't have the charisma of Blackarachnia. Actually, Airazor's character was never really firmly established on Beast Wars, as she seldom had any lines and when she did they were rarely descriptive of her character. This is probably the major reason why they changed Airazor into a male character when Beast Wars was sent to Japan, though you have to wonder what they did about the scene in 'Other Visits' where her and Tigatron held hands.

At any rate, I found the European repaint version of Airazor for sale on eBay for $5, so I snatched it up. It even came with a video of 'Aftermath' and 'Coming of the Fuzors (pt1)', which was pretty cool.

Anyway, in beast mode Bird-lady is a falcon. Looks pretty cool, with lots of neat detail, with the only major problem being with her legs and robot arms. Her legs, while they fold and even look right, are much too big, though you can usually ignore them, so I guess I can overlook that, though if you stare at them too long you start to wonder why they don't fold up more or something. Her robot arms, on the other hand, are just kinda there. There's no place to put them at all. In the package she came with them right under her wings, but I find if you fold them up behind her birdie butt (with her hands under her tail) they become the least amount of eye-sore there.

Transformation isn't too tough, but the results come out pretty good. Straighten the legs and arms, flip down her robot waist and fold the robot head and tail to their right spots. You can also fold up the wings, but that's up to you I suppose. What you get is a fairly accurate show representation, with the major exception being the head which somewhat resembles the real Airazor, but not enough for you to say 'wow, looks just like her' when you first see it.

Anyways, back to beast mode. You'll notice the two little orange things by her beast tail. If you pull those back her wings 'flap' and if you have the claw thingies on her wings forward they will come together in a grappling sort of motion which is a great way to chop off Inferno's head.

All in all Airazor is a pretty neat addition to your Beast Wars collection, and has a pretty spiffy feature for a basic. Also the free video is a nice touch, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, if you can get one, I'd recommend it, though the somewhat unimpressive beast mode and only slightly accurate robot mode may turn you off, still, gotta love Airazor, she's all woman, and she won't kill you after sex like Blackarachnia will (hehe, I was waiting the whole review to say that).
