Notes:
Heritage of Rutherford County: James aquired land in Wayne County Tennessee as
early as 1822, and settled on Beech Creek. Eight children were born there. In
the spring of 1834, James and his family emigrated to Blue Point, Edinburg
Illinois. That Oct, James, dau Mary, sons John and Jessee all died of "milk
sickness'.

and George E. Horne's graves, all three in a row.

1956: Jan 8: Obituary: Mary E. Horne-Boyce, age 80, died early this morning.
Widow of D.T.Boyce died early this morning at Hays Hospital after several years
of declining health. Mrs. Boyce was a native of Lee County, but made Laurens
her home for a number of years. She was the daughter of the late W.E. and Mary
Boyce Horne and member of Lynchburg Methodist Church. Surving are: Three sons
W.D.Boyce of W.P.B. Florida; J.E. Boyce of Sumter, S.C.; and A.E. Boyce of
Clinton, S.C.; Five Brothers: George Horne, Fla.; David E. Horne of Lake Worth,
Fla.; Yancey Horne of W.P.B., Fla.; Thompson Horne of Lancaster, S.C., and Ken
Horne, Sr. of Jupiter, Florida. Three sisters: Anna Mae Holland; Beulah
Funderburk of Cayce, S.C.; and J.W. Tobertson of Sumterton, S.C.; with nine
grandchildren and several Great- grand children. Gray Funeral Home, Clinton,
South Carolina. Rev. Perry W.Turner. Informant: Lauder Boyce.

1910: Mary Frances Elizabeth is listed as Elizabeth B. Boyce. She is residing
with her husband Dempsey T. Boyce and her brother George Horne resides with
them. Mary was called "Bessie" by family members.
