1799: John Halford got another patent for 100 acres on Mountain Creek.
John died when his horse slipped off a log bridge over the creek.
Andrew Halford"Andy" a brother to John came from Wayne County, Tennessee
and took 3 of John Halford"s sons David,Jacob, and Jonathan Atkinson to
live with his family after the death of their father.
Informants of the family assume their mother might have died between
22 Jul 1800 and 5 Jul 1804.
1804 Jul 5: Nancy Hider/Hyder Halford, age 5, orphan of John Halford dec'd was
bound to Benjamine Hider/Hyder until the age of 18.

INFORMATION ABOUT MARY'S FAMILY
1871 May 23: Mrs. Henrietta Leonard- Whitaker was daughter of Col. Van Leonard
of Columbus Co., Georgia was born near Madison, Georgia on 9 Sep 1827. In 1852
she married Samuel E. Whitaker of Balwin Co., Georgia, she died Milledgeville,
23 May 1871. Informant: A.J. Jarrell.
1850 census:James P. was listed as farmer, estate value $13,540.00. He birth
birth place is Georgia. Residing with him are wife Martha and 5 daughters.
His son Joseph is a student of Brownwood Institute in nearby La Grange. In La
Grange, we find the Benjamin H. Cameron family ,with two daughters, one of them
Emma F., will become the wife of Joseph and in 1860 we will find them residing
in the same home with Emma's sister Lavinia E. and her spouse A.C. Gibson and
their children.
James Pace Leonard (Lennard) will dated 25 May 1851, recorded 10 Dec 1851, Mrs.
Leonard was left a childs share of his estate. The executor Richard H. Leonard
deeded the house and 96 acres to Mrs Leonard on 6 Oct 1859.
