The Hunter-Dalton, now called Price, Cemetery, is located on #1325, west of
Mayodan, in Madison Twp., on the hill above Colonel James Hunter's house.
Ewell's father, as a trustee of Madison Academy, enrolled Ewell to be educated.
Ewell was not if favor of attending, and instead, his brother Robert was sent
in his place.

On 1850 census, Ewell was living next door to C. H. Scales and family.
On the 1860 census, Ewell and his family are living near the family of John
Steward. In Ewell's house is Mary A. Gladson, age 28, and her three children,
William age 10, Walter age 6, and Lillie age 4.
On the 1870 census, Ewell and his family were living near the families of
Hamilton Cardwell, Adam Dalton (B), and James Hill. In his house was Mary
Gladson and her three children.
On 1880 census, Ewell was living with his son R. E. and family.
