Zebra Bullhead Shark
Scientifically:
Heterodontus zebra.
What To Look For:
Striking zebra stripes run the length of the body
of this small bullhead shark. It has 2 dorsal fins,
each with a spine. This species is commonly found
living over the sea floor in inshore waters where
it crawls and swims slowly over rock, seaweed and
sand. Despite it being a common species, little is
known about it.
Size:
Up to 1.2 m.
Distribution:
Northern Australia and Western Pacific.
Food:
Probably eats bottom-living invertebrates.
Breeding:
Live-bearer. Litter size not known.
Danger To Humans:
Bites if provoked.
