Size:
Up to 1.6 m. Females are slightly larger than males.

Distribution:
Eastern North Atlantic, western Indian Ocean, South Africa and western Pacific.

Food:
Fish, lobster, squid, small dogfish and crabs.

Breeding:
Live-bearer, with six pups per litter.

Danger To Humans:
Not dangerous, but should be handled with care as spines are sharp. Occasionally caught by bottom trawlers.
