A Deck for the Chameleon
Magic Variant
Notes from the creator:
Card by Card Analysis:
Creatures:
4 Meddling
Mage : If you know your opponents deck, or if your opponent plays a
pesky card that you know they have more than one copy of, or don't want to
risk it, this takes care of it.
4 Armored
Guardian : Can basically make your creatures unblockable with enough
mana, and also almost impossible to kill.
4 Riptide
Crab : Great early blocker, and it can attack when it sees an opening.
When you go in for the kill, it cantrips when it hits the graveyard.
4 Harbor
Guardian : Great early to midgame blocker that can take down midsize
flyers as well.
4 Samite
Archer : Assists in combat to prevent your creatures from dying, and
also kills any other creatures with a toughness of one.
4 Iridescent
Angel : The kill card. Almost impossible to kill, and with all the
defense both from the other creatures and spells, this card should have no
trouble going in for a victory.
Spells:
4 Teferi’s
Moat : This card basically locks the game down, especially when you
have more than one out. It helps buy time to get the angel out, and pairs
well with meddling mage, because meddling mage can stop any cards that
destroy this.
4 Energy
Arc : Helps when you can't handle a large attack, and basically buys
you an entire turn. It also saves any creatures that are going to die in
combat, after blockers are chosen.
4 Angelic
Shield : Helps prevent my creatures from dying, and can prevent one of
my creatures from dying in extreme circumstances.
4 Absorb
: This card works very well with meddling mage. You wait until they cast a
spell, counter it, and then name the spell if its troublesome. Helps you
find troublesome cards without waiting for them to resolve. Also takes
care of cards that single-handedly wreck the deck.
The basic strategy of the deck is to lay out some small creatures, and
stay on the defensive side until you can lock your opponent down with Teferi's
moat. Then you wait until you get your Iridescent Angel, and go in for the
kill with it, clearing the way with your other creatures.--Kh |
