Cops vs. Aliens Rules For this variant you must have a minimum of 5 players. There is also a few variant to this for this game with more and less players. Due to lack of space left on the server, they will not be listed until I move the website in a few weeks. The goal of the game is for all the Aliens to kill the Cops or all the Cops to kill the Aliens. To start, 3 Cops cards are designated and 2 Alien cards are designated. You can use basic land for this (i.e. swamps for Aliens and plains for Cops). Each player receives a card face down that they can look at. This card indicated the team they are on, but they don't know who their teammates are. Choose a random method to see who goes first. Who ever goes first does get to draw a card. Each person starts off a 20 Life. From there, everyone plays as normal without knowing who their partner is until someone dies. At that point everyone turns their card face up to determine teams. From this point on, you may not attack a teammate.
Deck
Construction Use standard deck construction rules for this variant. Sideboard There is not sideboard for this variant. Banned
& Restricted List When
playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be
playing. So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended
Cops vs. Aliens then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List. Mulligan Rules Standard
“Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant. Before each game begins, a
player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his hand, drawing one
less card. This may be repeated as often as the player wishes, until he
has no cards left in his hand. After the participant, who plays first,
mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether to mulligan
passes to the other player. Once a player passes the opportunity to
mulligan, that player may not change his mind. History This variant was submitted by Ron Dictado.
